At ATCO Energy, we believe that energy is more than a utility, it’s a spark for change. That’s why we’re proud to announce the expansion of our partnership with Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta, as their Official Energy & Home Services Supplier—deepening our shared commitment to building secure and affordable housing in our communities.
A partnership built on purpose
Since 2022, ATCO Energy has stood alongside Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta, contributing nearly $200,000 in financial and in-kind support. In 2025 alone, we contributed $77,500 through fundraising initiatives and in-kind energy and home services. This support empowered partner families to reduce living costs, assisted Habitat in lowering operational expenses, provided services to ensure homes were move-in ready, and established a foundation for lasting stability.
This year, we remain dedicated to living our values of caring and collaboration through meaningful investments that support Habitat’s mission. As Habitat’s Official Energy and Home Services Supplier, we’re proud to contribute in‑kind energy and home services, alongside hands-on volunteer engagement and sponsorship for new home builds. Together, we’re helping create safe, stable, and energy-efficient homes for families in our communities.
As part of our expanded partnership, we’re also powering the Habitat ReStore to help offset operational costs—allowing more funding and resources to flow directly into homebuilding efforts.
"We’re proud to grow our partnership with Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta in a way that delivers real, measurable impact,” said Lindsey Hagen, Director, Marketing and Customer Engagement, ATCO Energy. "Together, we’re helping strengthen the systems that make affordable homeownership possible for families across the region."
Beyond financial and energy support, our teams will see Habitat’s impact up close. As part of our partnership, we're sponsoring a dedicated build day and joining Habitat crews on‑site in Chestermere, where 24 new homes are underway for families across Southern Alberta. By working alongside Habitat staff and community partners, our teams are helping advance construction progress and directly contribute to delivering safe, affordable homes for local families.
Real impact, real families
In 2025, Habitat completed 26 new homes and refurbished four more, helping 30 families, including 82 children, move into secure, stable housing. These numbers reflect the impact and commitment Habitat has put into transforming futures.
Stephanie, a future Habitat homeowner, shared her excitement, "We are going to be the first homeowners in my immediate family, so that’s very exciting. Providing stability for my son is top priority. Being able to stay with the same friend groups and not have to move around to different schools is really important and I know it will have a big positive impact on him."
Families like Stephanie’s are the reason we invest in partnerships that deliver meaningful results. As our work with Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta continues to grow, so does our shared impact—expanding access to safe, stable housing for families across the region. We’re proud to help create lasting change that strengthens communities today and for generations to come.
