When ATCO Energy launched in 2016, Alberta’s deregulated energy market gave Albertans the freedom to choose their own energy provider. But not everyone knew that. And many felt like their options weren’t actually working for them.
We saw an opportunity to do things differently with transparent pricing, flexible plans, and local support from real people based right here in Alberta.
Word spread. Albertans responded. And 10 years later, we’re still growing and still here for Alberta.
Our journey so far
What started as a small team with a big idea has grown into one of Alberta’s largest competitive energy retailers. Over the years, we’ve expanded into home services, built a Calgary-based customer care team, consistently been named one of Alberta’s Top Employers, and refreshed our brand to evolve with who we are today.
Along the way, our commitment to Alberta has extended well beyond energy. Since 2022, we’ve been proud to support Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta and the Women in Need Society (WINS). Together, these partnerships represent over $470,000 in financial, energy, and home services support to our partners.
We’ve continued to grow and expand these partnerships over the years, now as their official Energy & Home Services Supplier.
Through every winter, every rate change, and every new home powered, we’ve earned Albertans’ trust. That trust means the world to us. And this year, we wanted to give something back.
What we’re doing to celebrate 10 years
